In short: Dog Pause offers personalized, positive-reinforcement dog training focused on calmness, communication, and real-world skills. Training starts with an Initial Consultation and continues through customized coaching options designed to support both dogs and their people over time.

Initial Consultation
The starting point for all training with Dog Pause.
The Initial Consultation is a dedicated session to connect with Tower, understand your dog, and clarify what’s driving the behavior you’re seeing. During this session, you’ll discuss your goals, your dog’s history, and the challenges you’re facing, while also learning foundational concepts of dog behavior that support long-term success.
This session is designed to create clarity and direction before jumping into training exercises. It’s often information-rich, so having a pen and paper handy is encouraged.
The Initial Consultation lasts approximately 2 hours and can be held in person or virtually, depending on your location and needs.
Note: If weather conditions are poor, in-person sessions may be moved to virtual sessions for safety and effectiveness.

Available for locations within 45 minutes of Truckee, CA
Sessions are held in your home or another agreed-upon location.
Virtual
$226 - 2 hours via Google Meet
Available worldwide
A great option for distance clients or when an in-person session isn’t practical.
Continuing Training Options
Dog Pause offers a range of continuing training services designed to support both dogs and their people as skills, confidence, and communication develop over time.
Personalized Coaching Sessions
Ongoing, customized coaching sessions that build on the foundation established during the Initial Consultation. These sessions take a hands-on, real-world approach to help humans and dogs practice skills together and create lasting change.
Tower’s Touch Training
A hands-off training option designed for situations where time is limited or when you’ve hit a sticking point with a particular behavior. Tower works directly with your dog while keeping you involved in the learning process, making it a flexible option for busy schedules or specific challenges.
Titles & Achievement Training
Dog Pause also offers coaching toward formal titles, including:
